From DFI, appeared information about the possibility of intel x38 chipset to support DDR-2 memory , but they did not speak about the practical realization of this idea. High end chipset intel new generation had to propose quite large functionality, and as the supported memory type , was examined only DDR- 3. We cannot say that the speed level and overclocking potential of DDR- 3 disappoint, but the price of the commercially available DDR- 3 modules  still pretty high. Let us note that gigabyte company in its press release about new motherboards on base of chipset intel x38 also left indirect information about DDR-2 support . Model GA -X38T-Dq6 will support DDR- 3. The motherboard GA- X 38- DQ6  can completely propose support to more accessible memory DDR-2. Associates published the photograph of motherboard DFI LANPARTY X 38- T2R, which was equipped with DIMM slots for DDR-2 memory . This proves, that mainboard on base of chipset intel x38 actually can support DDR-2. On the mainboard DFI , will be installed the cooling system with thermal tubes. It is possible to see digital eight-phase power system . Besides two slots PCI express x16, this mainboard possesses one slot PCI express x4.
