With reference to Roberta Ferle , Confirming previous published information, qimonda company stated about its intention to pass from the development and release of GDDR4  directly to GDDR5 memory , whose series production is planned to begin in 2008 ( in first half). At present, according to To ferle, Qimonda anticipates competitors on the introduction rates of GDDR5 memory , which will become actual standard for video system in the next few years. Now, Qimonda release test module GDDR5 on 75 nm standards at USA and Germany factories , designed for work in 300- mm plates. The first GDDR5 memory already reached customers for testing.  After comprehensive testing will begin the series release in first half of next year. In the initial stage, Qimonda will supply GDDR5 chips with 512 MB volume.  In the case of success, Qimonda expects to increase its market share for graphic memory, which expect significant increase. Besides increase in GDDR demand in the next few years, Qimonda hopes for price improvement . According to the estimation of ferle, the sale price of (ASP) GDDR in the present year is 31 dollars, and to 2010 it will grow to 32 dollars. Related Products :
