After the hard drives , enterprise-class , Western Digital has officially demonstrated the world's thinnest 2.5-inch drive size.  The new products include two 500 GB models: Classic Series WD Blue hard drive and a hybrid storage device WD Black SSHD. The drives are capable of transmitting data through SATA interface with a bandwidth of 6 Gb / s, but Western Digital offers for this use non-standard connector SFF-8784, or Edge Card in the terminology of the manufacturer.  However, for systems with a high degree of integration and density of components (new hard drives Western Digital focuses precisely on such decisions) the application-of specific connectors will not be a serious drawback.   The devices use a number of proprietary technologies that increase the reliability and speed of the drives.   Related Products :
