It was considered that intel can inject the completely buffered memory FB-DIMM generation DDR- E in systems on base of servers processors class nehalem. From other side, AMD company actively criticized FB-DIMM memory module  , calling among the main disadvantages : the high costs and high energy consumption level  . As reports associate with reference to servers producers  ,  intel chipsets series 5100 (San clemente) will be limited to the support of registered memory DIMM modules . The processors generation nehalem will have the integrated memory controller with DDR- 3 support , and since the idea about the use of FB-DIMM is less and less inspiring Intel, servers producers assume that the company entirely will forgo this memory type . The Only supporters of FB-DIMM at the given moment remain Sun and Intel. The improvements in the architecture, provided BY FB-DIMM, do not justify their high prices. If Intel will forget about FB-DIMM, then Sun microsystems will remain in private with this standard. Reduction in the demand for FB-DIMM modules will has also some effect also for AMB microcircuits producers which have to raise the prices of its production. The popularity of the completely buffered memory under such conditions will be lowered . Related Products :
