Steam company valve software recently updated the study data of computers hardware configurations . Since steam service is oriented to games amateurs , it is possible to compose the portrait of statistical gaming computer - at least for those using steam. First , almost half of clients has fast Internet access ( speeds from 2 Mbit/s to 10 Mbit/s ). Concerning users with access speed not more than 56 kbit/s, those corresponds to dial-up connection, such user are just a little more than 2%. The most popular memory volumes are  : from 512 MB of 999 mb., from 1,5 Gb to 1,99 Gb. This statistics speak that memory complete sets with volume 2 Gb enjoy large popularity. Processor are divided between AMD (46,79%) and Intel (53,21%). 76% of users are satisfied by a single core processors! Only 23,58% have processors with two physical cores, and the portion of four core processors are just 0,39%. Approximately each three intel processors work at frequencies from 2.3 to 3.29 GHz. Popular Frequencies enjoyed  by AMD processors is lower- from 1.7 to 2.29 GHz. The video card are distributed between NVIDIA products (52,43%) and AMD (33,91%) . Intel graphical solutions compose 2,92% , rest are distributed between older product from ATI and NVIDIA, and also graphical solutions from unknown producers. Stable popularity enjoy the video card series  geForce 7600, GeForce 6600, GeForce FX 5200, Radeon 9600, GeForce 8800, GeForce 6800, Radeon x800, GeForce 7900, Radeon 9200, GeForce 7800 and even GeForce4 MX. The portion of remaining graphical solutions for each family does not exceed 3%. Almost 53% of those interrogated use video card with directX 9 and Shader model 3.0 support  . The portion of owners with video card witch support shader model 2.0 is not more than 23,83%. 15,34% are obtained by the owners of solutions with directX 8.0 support , only less than 5% are satisfied by DirectX 7.0. If we speak about the standard monitors sizes  , then model with  (4:3) compose 84,17% .  Wide-format models (16:9) compose only 15,4%. Among the first group of monitors the most popular diagonal are 16, 17 even 19. Among the second group we have : 15, 19, 20, 22, 24 and models with diagonal higher than 24 (12,23%). The video card portion with interface  PCI express x16 is (51,44%),  the portion of AGP 8x is 28,9%. Among the owners of multi-chip solutions almost 96% have two NVIDIA video card  , working in SLI regime . The owners of systems with the pair video card AMD,  working in CrossFire regime, compose only 4,35%. Five men use three video card , two men use four video chips NVIDIA,  in SLI regime . The most popular video memory volume is 128 mb or 256 mb. Video card with 512 mb memory are only 11,21%. Among those two percent, which exploit systems with directX 10support ,  the greatest popularity enjoy the video card series geForce 8800 and GeForce 8600. In the third place with a noticeable detachment we have the Radeon HD 2900 XT. More than 95% of those systems are equipped with DVD drives , the most popular hard disk capacities are : 80 Gb, 160 Gb, 200-250 Gb and above. The most popular operating system is Windows XP.
