yorkfield processors with extreme cooling were capable to overclock up to frequencies 5.6 GHz, and this was not the limit. Actually, new records in 3DMark tests where already established.
Today appeared a new report about the engineering model core 2 Quad q9550 (2.83 GHz), based on newer stepping.

In the motherboard asus blitz formula on base of chipset intel p35 this processor overclock to 3.2 GHz with 1.2 v. Increase in Vcore to 1.3 v allow to reach the frequency 3.6 GHz.

Let us recall that the used previously engineering models yorkfield were based on stepping 4. The appearance of fresher revisions speaks, that the announcement approaches. It would be desirable to believe that the overclocking potential of yorkfield processors becomes better.

What is normal temperature of this procesor. I have 49 celsius in normal, and in the game more then 60 celsius. Is my procesor overheating? I didnt overclock it.
