The official announcement of Phenom 9600 (2.3 GHz) and Phenom 9500 (2.2 GHz) is planned for today .
Let's start with the bad news. If it was considered that the processor Phenom 9700 (2.4 GHz) will be presented in December 14, then now it will appear only in the first quarter 2008. there is no clear reasons for the announcement delay .

The good news is the ability of AMD to provide AMD Phenom Black Edition version with free multiplier in this quarter. However, it will not operate at 2.6 GHz frequency , as is was planned but at 2.3 GHz frequency , which will be the same as in Phenom 9600 processor . For some reason processors with default frequency above 2.3 GHz in this quarter will not be released. We hope that the overlock potential of the first model Phenom Black Edition will not be modest.

The second good news is in the first quarter of the next year, AMD will introduce the processor Phenom 9900 (2.6 GHz). Its cost will be less than $ 350, Phenom 9700 (2.4 GHz) processor will stay within the range up to $ 300. The Processors Phenom 9500 (2.2 GHz) and Phenom 9600 (2.3 GHz) is available now for $ 251 and $ 283 respectively. Note that the HyperTransport 3.0 frequency in processor Phenom 9500 (2.2 GHz) and Phenom 9600 (2.3 GHz) will be equal to 3600 MHz, in case of processors Phenom 9600 (2.4 GHz) and Phenom 9900 (2.6 GHz), it will be equal to 4200 MHz.

AMD company expects to release the first quad processor with frequency up to 3.0 GHz in the first half 2008.
