According to the latest data, X48 chipset announcement is scheduled for January 2008. Gigabyte benefited from the available time to modernize the design of GA-X38-DQ6 with the new revision 1.1 witch should have a higher overclock potential . They have increased the stability with negative temperatures cooling.  The motherboard BIOS got a new opportunities, allowing to finely customize the overclocked system. MSI company also demonstrated its product based on chipset Intel X48, which is now known as MSI X48 Platinum. It s four slots PCI Express x16 work at x16 + x16 + x4 + x4, only two slot correspond to PCI Express 2.0 specifications .  MSI promises to begin the deliveries of X48 Platinum motherboard at the end of December at price around 250 euros.
