Intel began building a factory in Vietnam as early as 2006. The company was engaged in testing and packaging chipset. The immediate release of chips using lithographic techniques involved in Intel's United States, Israel and Ireland Enterprise (and more recently - in China), and the location of chips to other factories engaged in the packaging. After the closure of the company in Costa Rica, all such activities are moved to the South-East Asia (Vietnam, Malaysia and China). Accordingly, the new processors should also be packaged in the region. Moreover, 80% of this activity is now focused in Vietnam.
This week, Intel announced that Skylake processor for desktops and servers will be shipped from the factory in Vietnam.
