As we recently explained, each RV770 video chips has a special Crossfire interface side-port, which will allow to increase the data exchange rate for multi-chips solutions. With reference to AMD representatives statements it was reported that video card on base of RV770 chip will more effectively scale productivity in Crossfire X regime . for example, if a pair of HD 3xx card increase the performance by approximately one and half times, then new generation video card will allow to increase the speed by 1,8 times. Four video card increased the performance by 1,7-1,8 times, and with passage to RV770 it will reach 2,5 times.
Simultaneously the well-known analyst John Peddie explains, why competent AMD strategy on the graphical solutions development will allow this company to obtain a large advantage with respect to NVIDIA. First, the two-chip graphical solutions allow create faster and more advantageous products . In the second place, the 256- bit allow to reduce the energy consumption level and the chip core area . Its limited width is compensated by high GDDR-5 memory speed , that result in decent bandwidth. The release of monolithic video chip in the high-end segment is more complex. The core area grow with the anticipating rates in comparison with the passage speed to more than thin technical processes. Chips become more and more expensive .
