The first video cards GeForce 9500 GT will be based on the 65 nm video chip G96, and only later NVIDIA will use the 55 nm video chip G96b. Note that those models already exist, but their appearance in series video card is reported for later periods . Associate reported yesterday that NVIDIA is assembled to present the GeForce 9500 GT version on base of 55 nm video chip in the fourth quarter of the present year.

Passage to new technical process will allow to reduce the prime production cost , to lower the energy consumption level , and also will simplify the creation of passively cooled video cards . Present 65 nm version GeForce 9500 GT use four-layer printed-circuit boards with DDR-2 memory and six-layer printed-circuit boards with GDDR-3 memory . In general the larger number of layers result in higher overclocking potential.

The GeForce 9500 GT is called to replace the GeForce 8600 GT and to compose competition for the radeon HD 3650. The retail cost of the geForce 9500 GT will lie within the limits $65-75.
