NVIDIA Company in the middle of past month reported that it will allow the SLI support in X58 intel motherboards . SLI support will be released on such motherboards with the aid of nForce 200 SLI chip - similar solution is already adapted on skulltrail motherboards .

Motherboards producers will develop several models on base of intel x58 chipset - with SLI support and without . The presence of nForce 200 SLI will seriously influences the design of printed-circuit board .

As explains associate, this chip will be the hottest motherboard component . This chip will require cooling and this will only complicate the task . Under such conditions only a limited number of producers will decide to release intel x58 motherboards ready to officially support SLI technology . Moreover after detaining the announcement for performing additional design work, motherboards producers will be deprived from a part of profit.

Furthermore, two video cards radeon HD 4870 X2 will be faster , and SLI support can not simply enjoy a sufficient demand. In a word, the NVIDIA initiative to add SLI support for intel chipset has more ideological weight, than real practical value.
