Palit microsystems released the alternative HD 4850 version with factory overclock Last week palit microsystems company officially presented the 3d- card palit radeon HD 4850 Sonic.

As it was expected, this card include 512mb GDDR3 memory , connected with GPU using the 256- bus. As it is evident from the photograph, this card use samsung memory with access time 1 ns.

The special feature of this card : Palit engineers did not use reference design, after changing the separation of printed-circuit board and after increasing the core clock frequencies : to 685 MHz, memories - to 2000 MHz.

In order to increase the frequencies values , without operational stability issues, Palit use its own high performance cooling system and power control diagram . The power-supply system Of palit HD 4850 Sonic is made on three-phase diagram.

According to the producer, this rises the voltage stability , decreases heat emission and the graphic adapter service period is prolonged. The presence of additional 8- pin power connector ensures a stable power, for this reason the overclocking potential was enlarged. Palit HD 4850 Sonic include a massive copper plate, thermal tubes and two fans .

According to the company estimation , the nonstandard cooling system reduce the GPU temperature by 20°c, and noise by 10DB.
