AMD is intended to compete with NVIDIA in all market segments . At least, the Radeon HD 4800 can compete with all NVIDIA products in different high performance ranges .
Radeon HD 4850 is the first competitor to the GeForce 9800 GTX/GTX+, and as GeForce 9800 GT competitor will be released a new accelerator on base of the reduced graphic processor RV770LE. Its difference from RV770 pro are is the lower frequency, 550 against 625 MHz in Radeon HD 4850. Furthermore, the RV770 core will get a noticeable simplification : the 256- bit memory interface will be replaced by the 192- bit, the number of stream processors will be lowered from 800 to 480, the texturing blocks from 40 to 24, ROP blocks from 16 to 12. | ||
