Associte already reported this week that the passage on 40 nm technical process for NVIDIA production is planned for the second quarter 2009. Many currently hope for the appearance of 40 nm chips in the first quarter 2009 . At least, this was indicated in NVIDIA roadmap , which mention about 40 nm GT212 chip . Associate with the reference to analysts reports that AMD and NVIDIA companies will present the first 40 nm video chip only in the second-half 2009. The 40 nm chips prototypes, however, will appear from TSMC in the end of present year. As change to RV770 will arrive the 40 nm chip RV870, and GeForce GTX 280 will be replaced by the GT212. Now Dresden AMD factories are working on the release of 45 nm processors with the application of SOI technology , but the ready to release 32 nm processors factory fab 4X in the state New York will be built not earlier than 2010. Consequently, AMD now can only release 40 nm video chip with the assistance of TSMC. Possibly, the economic decrease will force TSMC to reexamine the preparation periods  for the series production of 40 nm chips AMD and NVIDIA. Related Products :
