AMD showed another proofs of the ability of 45 NM processors phenom II X4 to overclock up to 6.2-6.3 GHz with liquid nitrogen, and to the frequencies of approximately 4.0 GHz with the use of powerful air cooler . Associate could overclock the processor phenom II X4 940 Black edition from the default frequency 3.0 GHz to 4.957 GHz, using liquid nitrogen cooling. Associates with reference to the statements of AMD representatives report that the processors phenom II X4 can have the so-called cold bug at a temperature of minus 70 degree Celsius. This sounds a little wired, since liquid nitrogen usually cools the processor to lower temperatures . We should note that each processor copy has its individual threshold . The crysis demo can be executed at 6.1 GHz, and in 3DMark'05 and 3DMark'06 the processor preserved stability at the frequency 6.0 GHz. With the use of processor cooler coolerMaster z600 with 120 mm fan , the phenom II X4 940 Black edition stably worked under load at 3.9-4.13 GHz frequency  , vcore in this case was 1.58 v. Greek overclocker overclocked the processor to 5.0 GHz with liquid nitrogen. The official overclock results will be published on 8 January, 2009. Related Products :
