VIA company intends to present the dual core version of nano processors not earlier than 2010. They will be released on a thin technical process by Fujitsu.
Associate refreshed information about VIA plans on the development of nano processors . Via plan to release the single core 65 NM processors nano 3000.
They will preserve the substantial part of their predecessors characteristics : 1333 MHz bus, 128 KB cache in the first level and 1 Mb cache in the second level, support 64-bit expansions and the design concept nanoBGA 2. The energy consumption level will be lowered, and specific speed will increase due to the acceleration of integral operations and floating-point calculations blocks , and also the improvement of internal cache structure . Those processors will support SSE4 expansions . Compatibility with nano 1000/2000 processors will allow the new processors generation to be rapidly adapted in the existing infrastructure. Possibly, the processors nano 3000 will appear in the third quarter 2009.
The dual core successors of these processors can be released by Fujitsu company on 45 NM technology, or by TSMC company on 40 NM technology. Priority for VIA is reduction in the energy consumption; therefore, it is impossible to create a dual core processor within the 65 NM technology . The dual core nano versions will have a monolithic crystal and the design concept nanoBGA 2, which will allow to use them with the minimum motherboard adaptation . Related Products :
