We already reported this week that the triumphal announcement of products on base of RV770 chip forced AMD to focus on young graphic cards producers . The problems that AMD in the past year negatively affected the business of the most devoted partners , but those did not begin to release products on the base of NVIDIA chips. At least, this week palit released the video card radeon HD 4850 and Radeon HD 4870.
For the present proposed video cards have a standard design and are satisfied by regular frequencies: 625/1986 MHz for Radeon HD 4850 and 725/3600 MHz for Radeon HD 4870. Select Rating

Intel already demonstrated the ray tracing technology ( construction of exploded views ) using a multiprocessor systems, After one and half years this technology will be used with larrabee. NVIDIA company understand that its video chip are also capable of working with rays tracing. As reports associate , AMD video chip are completely capable of composing competition to Intel and NVIDIA product in the construction of realistic photo using the same method .
julesWorld company already used a system on base radeon 2900 XT (R600) for creating the trailer of Transformer film , which were checked in the real time scale . The video card radeon HD 2900 XT with 1Gb memory managed the task at 20-30 FPS speed with 720p resolution and without smoothing. Passage to Radeon HD 3870 allow to increase the speed to 60 frames per second, but with smoothing enabled the speed fell to 20 frames per second. Finally, the video card radeon HD 4870 execute this task with 60 frames per second, moreover smoothing does not lead in speed loss! This technology also works on NVIDIA video chips from GeForce 8800 and older, but in view of architectural special features they demonstrate a lower speed . Select Rating

Gainward company recently released two GPU models ATI radeon HD 4800 - Gainward HD4870 and Gainward HD4850. Those product are the copy of reference design. The HD4870 is equipped with 512 mb GDDR5 memory , which works at effective frequency 3600 MHz (900 MHz X 4); The core frequency is 750 MHz.
The HD4850 has also 512 mb GDDR3 memory, which works at 1986 MHz ; the GPU frequency is equal to 625 MHz. Both products support the technology PCI express 2.0, ATI crossFire X, AVIVO HD and PowerPlay. Select Rating
