In spite of severe price wars and losses, AMD company does not lose optimism, and expects to leave the period of unprofitability. The bright start of radeon HD 48xx suggests hope for an increase in AMD market share in the graphical segment . Freshest data relate to the first quarter 2008. Intel increased its market share in comparison with the fourth quarter 2007 - from 78,5% to 79,7%. But if we compare the market shares For intel in first quarter 2007 and 2008, then dynamics will be negative - giant processor yielded to competitors 0,7%. AMD company in this year was able to improve the indices of gain in the processor segment from 10,9% to 13,0%. I.e., increase in the long-term interval composed 2,1%. Good, if we considers that AMD was forced to regularly reduce prices under the pressure of Intel. Consequently, AMD continues to improve it's position in aprite of short term failures. But if we consider the fourth quarter 2007, then here AMD lost 1,1% of market.

AMD is interested in the fast appearance of the high end two-chip video card . The relationship of price and productivity could become strong competitive advantage. Finally, the GeForce GTX 280 is proposed for $649. AMD decided in the end of July to propose the standard version R700 with 2 X 1 Gb GDDR5 memory for $499. The video card frequencies are not refined. New PLX chip will support PCI express 2.0. The first r700 model will appear on July 15 this year . Simultaneously will begin the deliveries of separate RV770 video chips, which can be used for creating R700 versions with original design.

As result appeared two geForce GTX 260 models with high frequencies:

BFG GeForce GTX 260 OC2 - > 630/1350/2126 MHz;

BFG GeForce GTX 260 OCX - > 655/1404/2250 MHz.

Both video cards includes 192 stream processors, 896 MB GDDR3 memory and 448- bit bus. Let us recall that the standard GeForce GTX 260 frequencies are 576/1242/1998 MHz.

NVIDIA Company already learned how to accelerate physical effects in games, to execute scientific calculations, to process photographs, to recode video, and soon they will build exploded views by the ray tracing method . In the opinion of Intel management , CUDA platform is a temporary phenomenon, and NVIDIA has to replace the programming model . Intel is ready to propose larrabee products , which will be the multi core solutions with the x86 architecture . Programmers will simply develop solutions for this architecture and this will allow to raise the productivity of contemporary computers evolutionarily.
