We already reported about the new Intel initiative, where FUGGER will obtain the specially selected processors core I 7-965 Extreme edition (3.2 GHz) in order to overclock them to the frequency 7.0 GHz under liquid nitrogen on CES 2009 exhibition .
FUGGER and its nearest companions report about the intermediate successes . The first Intel processors party arrived in FUGGER residence. One of the processors cores i 7-965 Extreme edition overclock to 5014 MHz with 1.47 v and air cooling! Memory modules voltage was equal to 1.66 v, QPI voltage was equal to 1.35 v, the QPI bus multiplier was equal to 36x, the frequency of base oscillator was 152 MHz.

All four cores were active, under load the cores temp reached 70 degree Celsius. As processor cooler , FUGGER used the radiator thermaltake with two 120 mm fans. The author of experiment asserts that under three-stage cascade at the temperature minus 100 degree Celsius this processor can operate at the 5.7 GHz frequency .
