Yesterday we talked about the removal of intel chipset series x965 in the following block . From one side, Intel will present more progressive chipsets ( bearlake series 3), whose price promise to be attractive. From other side, in budget sector we will have only the optimized chipsets series i945x. Will intel propose new budget chipset for desktop system ? As reports associate, in the third quarter , intel will present not only budget integrated chipset intel g31, but also discrete chipset intel p31, which gradually will replace the chipset series i945x. Motherboard on base of chipsets G31 and P31 will support dual core and four core processor , in addition to the future 45 nm processors. In the third quarter these chipsets will propose the support to processors with 1066 MHz system bus, while in the first quarter of the following year they will officially support the 1333 MHz system bus. Both chipset support DDR 2-800 memory with volume up to 4 Gb and discrete video card with interface PCI express x16. Intel G31 chipset as integrated graphic core uses Intel GMA 3100 - the same core is used in chipsets intel G33, Intel Q33 and Intel Q35. The north bridges in intel G31 and P31 will be combined with the old south bridges series ICH7. This will allow producers to reduce expenditures for motherboard modernization . | ||
