HighPoint developed a new SAS/SATA- solution, which is designed for system bus PCI-Express : This product was called rocket RAID 2640X4. Data Read is possible at 501 MB/ s, while write speed is @ 486 MB./s. The card rocket RAID 2640X4 is positioned as better solution for demanding (on disk system) applications : CAD, processing and editing digital video ... New low-profile controller support NCQ instructions , works with 4 disks SAS/SATA and respectively it has 4 internal ports. Supported RAID- modes are : 0,1,5,10 and JBOD. Rocket RAID 2640X4 can work with files (more than 2 TB) due to the 64- bits LBA support  , it can automatically determine the addition or removal of disk and reconstruct file, this controller support S.M.A.R.T technology  (Early warning system). Disk files Control is accomplished by the technologies online capacity expansion (OCE) and Online RAID level migration (OLRM). Compatible Operating System are Windows (2000, XP, x64, 2003, 2008, Vista (32 and 64) bits), Linux (Fedora core, Red hat enterprise/centOS, SuSE), Mac OS X 10.4.and above and  also FreeBSD.
