According to PCI-SIG concept , the introduction of devices with PCI express 3.0 support will begin in 2010. Capacity in comparison with PCI express 2.0 had to be doubled. As it was explained, the future AMD chipset (Q2 2009) will be supplemented with the south bridge SB800, which will propose support to PCI express 3.0 and SATA-600, and also some other update. For example, interface for connecting the north and south bridges will work in PCI express 3.0 x4 regime .

The serial ATA interface speed can be also doubled. AHCI will be updated to the 1.2 version . The power control system will allow new AMD chipset to work with hybrid processors fusion, which support energy state C6. The South bridges AMD will get the built-in gigabit net interface . The quantity of USB 2.0 ports will increase from 12 to 14 pieces, A pair of ports will work in the regime USB 1.1. The South bridge SB800 will be able to control the fan speed.
