We already reached the third calendar quarter, and computer producers begin to correct their forecasts relative to the financial results of the second quarter. Associate got some result of NVIDIA activity for the second quarter : loss of $150-200 mln., connected with expenditures on the guarantee repair , recovery of some mobile video chips and chipset . Poor materials quality ( core packing ) led to their higher failure level . Defects were removed, but NVIDIA does not exclude the possibility that the same problem may appear in another video chip and chipset. According to the description, problem is somehow connected with the thermal condition of the indicated components , which is used in laptop computers. The profit indices of NVIDIA in the second quarter can be also reduced due to the low global demand and delays in the production of new integrated chipset. The forced reduction in the GeForce 9800 GTX prices will also affect NVIDIA financial position. Actions NVIDIA fell yesterday by 4% against the background of similar news. | ||
