Today we can report as minimum about two interesting news, which relate to the 45 nm processors phenom II X4. The first is the overclocked processor phenom II X4 940 (3.0 GHz), using extreme cooling. The second is the appearance of processors box markings : phenom X4 Socket AM2+, which will appear on sale already during January of the following year: AMD phenom II X4 940 Black edition (HDZ940XCGIBOX) - > 3.0 GHz frequency, four core, 4 X 512 KB cache in the second level, 6 MB cache in the third level, socket AM2+, TDP=125 W; AMD phenom II X4 920 (HDX920XCGIBOX) - > 2.8 GHz frequency, four core, 4 X 512 KB cache in the second level, 6 MB cache in the third level, socket AM2+, TDP=125 W. 	absolutely FAKE ! It is clocked to 5920.4 Mhz and 200 Mhz BUS, BUT this means that The multiplier should be 29.602 ! Obviously this is impossible. If Multiplier is 29.5(which is possible) then clock should be 5900 Mhz !

	It wouldn\'t report as exactly 5900mhz, I agree it looks fishy, but I\'ve heard reports of the new ones going up to 6.3ghz with liquid Nitrogen Cooling.....

Actually.. lets take 29.5 as a multiplier.. very often your cpu is up or down anywhere from ~-1mhz to +1 mhz or some fraction within... Sometimes more, at a default HT clock, as it makes them more competitive in reviews where the reviewers aren\'t careful to check. If the board as well is feeding a value to cpuid of 200mhz, it could very well be higher. So now for those with any experience what so ever working with overclocking systems, we know that there is variance in base clocks as it\'s not exactly going to be 200.000000000000000000 (you get the idea) mhz So assuming a slight variance of around .67 mhz 29.5 x .67mhz = 19.765 mhz off or a speed of around 5919.765mhz In other words the \'actual\' speed of the FSB / HT base clock in this was probably in the neighborhood of 200.691525..... Mhz which is as likely as any speed within +/- 1-2mhz of the setting. Perhaps to illuminate this in another way for any doubters, chances are there is a 33mhz base clock on the board, that would be used to set timings of say PCI slot, etc. this crystal / clock if utilized for other clocks would only have to be running a measly .11mhz faster for the time interval when cpuid was running its check. Yeah, thats right a pci bus freq of 33.449 mhz - OH Noes that never happens.... Geez give me a break. To the first poster, you are a moron. 29.5 x .33
