AMD company declared in the beginning of October , that it will create in the first quarter 2009 the joint enterprise foundry company, which will be concentrated in the production of semiconductor chips, including orders from strange developers. It was originally assumed that AMD portion in the new enterprise will be about 44% of actions, but later due to actions drop , this portion was decreased to 34%. The remaining actions part will belong to Arab investors. Furthermore, they will purchase 35 ml actions from AMD itself.
In the fourth quarter this year , AMD company will have expenditures in the size of $70 of ml., connected with restructuring. Furthermore, AMD will discharge about 600 men . The restructuring plan was confirmed by AMD in nineteenth December this year. From the $70 ml. Almost $34 ml will go to colleagues entitlements , $13 ml. will compose expenditures on the curtailment of contracts and programs, $17 ml. due to the overestimation of active memberships, and $6 ml as expenses at AMD factories . During November the company expected to limit expenditures to not more than $50 ml. In the first half-year AMD also promises to take a number of measures to reduce expenditures. | ||
