We periodically published news about loongson processors, developed by Chinese engineers and produced at the capacities of sTMicroelectronics company. These processors do not use x86- compatible architecture, but they be based on MIPS technologies company developments .
Last week MIPS technologies company reported about obtaining by the Chinese institute of computational technologies (ICT) a straight license for use in its processors architectures MIPS32 and MIPS64. These will be used for further improvement of loongson processors. Chinese developers acknowledged that not only they satisfy the need of defense industry, but also look at the market for notebook under linux and other consumer electronics.
