On this week Intel talked about the operational models four core processors nehalem generations  , which will find use in the two-processor systems. Each processor can support the doubled flows quantity  ; therefore in the tasks manager of the demonstration system we had sixteen virtual cores. The announcement of first four core processors nehalem generation in the desktop segment is planned for the fourth quarter 2008. Intel representatives already stated that such processors will have monolithic chip. With time the number of core on nehalem architecture will be increased to eight, but only in server segment. . Associate reported that in the fourth quarter 2008 , Intel company will release the first six-core processor with the monolithic chip, but it will have the core architecture , and it will be released on 45 nm technology. This processor has the code designation dunnington. Each cores pair , united on one chip, will be equipped with 3 mb cache in the second level, and the third cache level will be divided. Its capacity will be  from 12 to 16 mb., depending on  the processor ( four- or six-core configuration ). Dunnington processors will support 1066 MHz system bus, they will be placed in energy niches with the TDP level not more than 60, 90 and 130 W respectively. beckton processor  , previously known under the code designation Nehalem-EX.  will use nehalem architecture with the built-in memory controller . This last will be four-channel, and it will ensure support to both FB-DIMM DDR-2 and registered DDR- 3 modules . Eight processor cores on one chip will get the divided cache in the last level with volume equal to 24 mb.  The four-channel system bus controller  QPI will connect processors with the chipset elements. Such processors will appear in the second-half of 2009, it will be released on 45 nm technology, TDP level will not exceed 130 W. The design concept Of beckton is indicated by the mysterious symbols combination socket LS. Each 8 core processor beckton will be able to process 16 flows. Thus, 8 core server on its base will allow  to process to 128 flows. Related Products :
