In September this year, NVIDIA reached the integrated chipsets market for intel processors . The Chipsets series MCP73 supported DirectX 9.0c, and the optimal combination of price and functionality gives NVIDIA a good chance to succeed in fight with Intel products.
The single channel memory controller severely limited the performance of chipset series GeForce 7xxx. Perhaps this is why NVIDIA agreed to add in the chipsets series MCP7A a second memory channel . Here is the caracteristique of future chipset .

The number of channels will increase from one to two (Dual channel), but the supported memory type will remain unchanged - DDR2-800. The Bus Frequency is equal to 1333 MHz in addition to PCI Express 2.0 support . PATA support will disappear, instead MCP7A chipsets series will offer six ports SATA-300. The number of available PCI Express x1 ports will increase from two to four.
Network controller will work at Gigabit speeds, and the number of USB 2.0 ports will increase from ten to twelve. Graphics system will provide not only support to HDMI DisplayPort but also it will be able to work with technology PureVideo HD, accelerating Blu-ray with video playback and HD DVD on the hardware level. In other words, MCP7A chipsets will be better than MCP73. The Announcement of MCP7A chipset is scheduled for the first quarter 2008. Related Products :
