One of the first integrated AMD chipsets, created specially for socket AM3 processors , will become RS880. According to different data, its announcement will take place either at the end of the second quarter 2009 or in the beginning of the third. This chipset will obtain the optimized in comparison with AMD 780G graphic core.
Today appeared the description of the fundamental chipset characteristics : AMD 880G (RS880). Associates assert that this chipset will appear in the third quarter of the following year, and it will become the part of multimedia platform piscec. Two basic improvements will appear at the level of graphic core: directX 10.1 and UVD 2.0 support. The latter will ensure a qualitative video acceleration at the hardware level (MPEG2, H.264, VC1). The chipset graphic core according to its abilities will correspond to the Radeon HD 3450 (RV620).  The south bridge SB710 will ensure the chipset a support to twelve ports USB 2.0 and six ports SATA-300. The technology overDrive 3.0 will allow to flexibly control the processors performance and the fans rotation speed . This chipset will support the interfaces DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort and multi-monitor configurations. Related Products : | ||
