OCZ technology company released a new SSD device series : apex, which would ensure a good combination of price and performance. The distinguishing feature of this SSD series had to become the support of disk array RAID 0, which allow to unite two identical disks. RAID support is realized by the built-in controller jMicron.
Recently, OCZ technology company officially presented the SSD apex. They use memory microcircuits (MLC type) and ensure the data transmission speed of 230 Mb/s with 160 Mb/s (read ,write). The access time lies within the limits from 0.2 to 0,3 milliseconds. The SSD weight is only 77 grams. Here is the recommended by producer retail prices for apex SSD :
Intel X25- M with 160 GB volume, for example, is proposed for $990, and its analog with 80 GB volume fell recently in price to $525. OCZ company proposes for $369 a SSD with 120 GB volume, and even the elder model with 250 GB volume is cheaper than the less capacious SSD from Intel. Intel SSD is faster on reading operations (250 Mb/s against 230 Mb/s), but the declared writing speed in OCZ SSD is much higher: 160 Mb/s against 70 Mb/s . Related Products : | ||
